Another "On the Spot Admission” at URock Tuesday, August 20 - Qualify for $1,000 Scholarship

Fri, 08/16/2019 - 12:45pm

The University of Maine at Augusta Rockland Center (URock) will be offering its next "On-the-Spot Admit Day” on Tuesday, August 20 from 10AM - 5PM at its campus on the 4th floor of the Breakwater Building.

“We’ve had great success so far with these events,” said URock Director Deborah Meehan. “Students are getting results in one easy visit.”

UMA Admissions representatives are available to help recent high school graduates, new and transfer students, and returning students complete an application; take a placement test (if needed); start the financial aid process; enroll in fall classes; and register for New Student Orientation all in one visit. Transfer students can also receive an unofficial transfer evaluation.

“On the Spot Admit Days are just another way UMA takes barriers away from starting, or completing, a college degree,” stated Brandy Finck, Associate Vice President for Admission and Student Financial Services.  “Now is the time to make your plans for fall, and in one easy stop you can apply, be admitted, and enroll in your first course.  We will also help you explore how to make your college education affordable with scholarship opportunities.”

There are many financial scholarships available for both new and returning students. Everyone who attends and registers for courses totaling at least six credit hours will be placed in a drawing for one of three $1,000 scholarships! There is no application fee.

The Fall Semester at UMA starts September 3, so this is an ideal time to learn more, apply, and register for classes. We encourage you to register for the event at uma.edu/onthespotbut drop-ins are welcome.
