Annual Leonard Lookner Memorial Camden Roadside Cleanup Friday and Saturday, April 23 & 24.

Mon, 04/18/2022 - 10:30am

Volunteers are invited to meet at Hannaford Supermarket parking lot in Camden, at 9 a.m., both Friday and Saturday, where they will receive safety vests, equipment, and road assignments.

Your neighbors, friends and fellow workers can all pitch in for an hour or two OR three!  Do you already pick up litter in local neighborhoods??  That is TERRIFIC !

Please sign up for a street or area on this shared spreadsheet here: https://bit.ly/3KIa4c1

To receive a road assignment in advance or for more information about volunteering, contact Alison McKellar at amckellar@camdenmaine.gov / marcie casas 207-318-0131 / Peter Lindquist 207-446-1751

The cleanup began in 2017 as a celebration of Earth Day and to honor the late Leonard Lookner, longtime Camden Select Board member, a business owner who frequently walked into downtown Camden picking up litter, taking care of our world, one bag of trash at a time.

We can all learn from Leonard’s legacy by Inviting our neighbors, friends and children outside for an hour or two - PICKING UP TRASH to make the town cleaner!
