Alums Returning as AmeriCorps Members

To Our Community -

This week is “AmeriCorps Week” – a time when we recognize the AmeriCorps Members who are here serving our community. Every year, it’s a privilege to bring new AmeriCorps Members into our work. They help staff deliver quality mentoring and experiential learning opportunities to students.

This year feels special, as all AmeriCorps Members serving at Trekkers are also Trekkers Alumni. It is incredible to watch former students step into the role as adult mentors, demonstrating the culture of giving back and helping others forward.

“I do think it’s important for students to see alumni as AmeriCorps members,” recent high school graduate and now Trekkers AmeriCorps Member, Ryker Weaver said. “It shows that Trekkers truly does care about the person even after the program ends, not just when they’re a student. It shows that this program makes enough of an impression on you as a student to want to really commit to giving back.”

Thank you for joining us this year:

Mitchell Del Frate (class of 2017)

Ryker Weaver (class of 2021)

Ben Willey (class of 2017)

Myla Ferland (class of 2019)

Your impact is boundless. Thank you for stepping up to be mentors and role models for the next generation, so that they (with your help) can continue passing the torch of service onward.

Amie Hutchison
Executive Director, Trekkers
