CAMDEN, ME, December 16, 2022 – Press Release – Matthew Levin, Director of Hotels for the Bay View Collection, and Erick Anderson, General Manager of the Bay View Collection, presented a check today to Jennifer Thompson, Executive Director of NAMI Maine. The donation of $1200.00 is in support of the organization’s comprehensive programs and services, from support groups and suicide prevention, to education, advocacy and awareness, to peer support for all of those affected by mental illness here in Maine. 

The donation was a result of 16 Bay View’s ongoing “Great Rates for a Great Cause” campaign. Guests who choose to participate receive a 50% discount off their two or more-night stay, and in exchange for this significantly discounted room rate, guests make a minimum donation of $40/night to the Knox Co. Homeless Coalition. This offer began in mid-November and continues through April 30th, 2023.

NAMI Maine is just one of several giving campaigns that the Bay View Collection is offering this winter and spring. At Grand Harbor Inn they are offering a similar discount to guests in support of Finding Our Voices, and at Lord Camden Inn, they are supporting PAWS.

“The spirit of giving is still alive,” says Levin. “Even with the significant increase in costs, from groceries to utilities to gas and travel, my heart is warmed by the kind and giving nature by those that are fortunate enough to visit Camden and participate in this campaign so far”. Levin goes on to say, “The impacts of mental illness and suicide have hit very close to home for us here at 16 Bay View this past year and that is why NAMI’s mission is significantly important to our hospitality family. We couldn’t be happier to support such a beneficial organization.”

Erick Anderson, General Manager of Hotels for the Bay View Collection added, “Our partnership with NAMI for this specific package came as a unanimous decision from our management team. We all realize how much our State and specifically our area can benefit from the great support that NAMI’s efforts provide. Anyone in the Mental Health field is considered a superhero in my book and I cannot thank them enough for the work they do.” He finished by saying, “I’m humbled by the support of our hotel guests with this Great Package, many of which make the decision to increase their donation upon arrival.”
