    Jim was born on June 1, 1954 in Newton Highlands, Massachusetts, to parents Henry “Hank” and Jean Heymer Lorenzen. The family moved to St. George in 1956 where Jim attended the local schools and he graduated from Georges Valley High School in Thomaston with the Class of 1972.

Mike was Dale Earnhardt Sr's No. 1 fan and win or lose, the NFL's Carolina Panther's biggest fan, rivaled only for that title by his son, Devindale.

    Ernest L. Simmons, of Friendship, 91, died on Friday, June 30, 2017 in the Miles Hospital after a brief illness. He was the devoted brother of Edna Simmons.

    Ernest was born on October 28, 1925 in Friendship Long Island, Maine, and he was the son of the late Fred L. and Edith M. (Clark) Simmons.

    He was employed as a stitcher for 41 years for Van Baalens in Rockland until his retirement.
