    PORT CHARLOTTE, FLA. — Harland L. "Harley" Robinson, 85, of Port Charlotte, Florida,, and formerly of Vassalboro, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida.

    Harland was born on December 12, 1931 in Rockport and was the son of the late Louis A. Robinson and R. Hazel Collins Robinson.

He graduated from Thomaston High School in the class of 1942. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He met and married Evangeline McLean in 1946.

He was a 1980 graduate of Rockland District High School and then decided to serve his country and join the US Army. He served four years in Germany and two additional years in the reserves.     For most of her working career, Ethel worked as a waitress at several area restaurants, and worked seasonally in area fish processing plants.
