    David E. Burnham, 73, of Waldoboro, passed away unexpectedly on November 30, 2017 at LincolnHealth in Damariscotta, with his family by his side.  He was born on March 18, 1944 in Waldoboro to Elmer Burnham and Marguerite (Bell) Burnham.

    David was a graduate of Waldoboro High School.  He worked at the Paragon Button Factory.  He also worked at Bath Iron Works for 40 years as a NDT technician working on Navy ships until he retired in 2006.

    HOPE — Shirley Mae Perkins, 85 of Hope, passed away on November 27, 2017 at the Knox Center for Long Term Care in Rockland. She was born on May 15, 1932 in Whitefield, Maine to Elven Creamer and Annie (Jones) Creamer.

    Shirley grew up in Washington and Hope area and attended schools in Washington. She was a stay at home mom, raising her children and also ran an adult foster care home for 20 years. She also worked at the blueberry canning factory in Union.

    FRIENDSHIP – Paul W. Lash, 94, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 25, 2017.

    Born in Friendship, June 4, 1923, he was the son of Robert and Levilda Newbert Lash. He attended Friendship schools.

    At the age of 19, Paul joined the United States Army and fought in Italy during World War II, as part of the 45th Infantry Brigade Thunderbirds. Wounded while fighting for our country, he was awarded the Purple Heart.

    GARDINER and ROCKLAND - Adam Daniel Purington, 37, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017.

    Adam was born on June 17, 1980, the son of Dana Fred Purington Sr. and Fern Purington. He grew up in Gardiner, Maine, and did a four year tour in the Army after graduating from Gardiner Area High School in 1999. At the time of his death, Adam was employed as a commercial fisherman in Rockland. It was a job he greatly enjoyed for the last 10 years.

She grew up in Searsmont and married Isaiah B. Davis at the age of 16, with whom she started a family. They had four children and were long-time residents of Searsmont before retiring to Swanville. During her working years, Ethel worked in potato farming and for Penobscot Poultry.

    Born in Framingham, Massachusetts, he was the third and youngest son of Fairfield Goodale, Sr., and Anna Bowditch Perkins.

    He served in the US Army after World War II, was stationed in Germany and received degrees from Harvard College and Harvard Law School.

    Elaine was born January 7, 1937 in Old Town, Maine to Nick G. Christakos and Thelma D. (Ouellette) Christakos. She lived in Bangor until the age of 13 when her parents moved the family to Calais, Maine. She graduated Calais Memorial High School in 1954.

Jennie was a very active community member in Searsmont, earning an award for Community Beautification for her many efforts. Jennie had a quick smile and friendly nature and was also a beautiful artist.

After graduating High School Scott joined the United States Navy and served for 9 years and 11 months before being honorably discharged. In 1991 he became a prison guard for Thomaston State Prison and then moved on to truck driving.

    Born in Oslo, Norway in 1937, she was the daughter of Olav and Hjordis Larson Thorvaldsen. She came to the United States with her mother fleeing Nazi occupied Norway in 1940. Astri first stayed in New York City with friends, but ultimately settled in Glen Cove in 1942.
