His departure from this world was peaceful, and he was surrounded by his loving family.

    Born in Boston on April 6, 1937, she was one of seven children of John F. and Doris Leonard Heald. She moved at an early age to Warren, where she was educated in local schools.

    In 1956, she married Wesley A. Wentworth. The couple lived most of their married lives in Warren, where they raised their family.

    ROCKPORT — Rosalie Fogg, 73, died April 19, 2017, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, following a brief struggle with pneumonia.

    Born in Rockland on March 26, 1944, she was the daughter of Edward and Frances E. Harriman Curtis. She was educated in Rockland schools and was proud to earn her GED certificate later in life.

    In 1963, she married Charles E. Fogg in Rockland. The couple resided all their married lives in Rockport.

    ROCKLAND — Dorothy I. Small, 97, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2017, at Knox Center for Long Term Care, after a period of declining health. She was born in London, England, to William and Esther Sykes Sulman.

    Dorothy met her future husband, Harold "Bud" Small, while he was stationed in Oxford serving with the United States Army Air Core. They married in 1944 and moved to Rockland in 1946.

    ROCKLAND — Joseph O. “Gump” Coolbroth Sr., 90, died April 15, 2017, at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport, following an extended illness.

    Born in Lynne, Mass., on Dec. 20, 1926, he was the youngest of six children of Charles A. and Elizabeth Sweetland Coolbroth. At a young age he moved to Tenants Harbor with his family. He attended local schools.

    He was a World War II, U.S. Navy Veteran and served aboard the U.S.S. Upshur.

    NORTHPORT — Mitzi Joy Lichtman was born July 23, 1949, in New York and grew up in the Bronx. She came to Maine in the 1970s and stayed, to our great benefit, settling in the Belfast area. Mitzi passed away at the age of 67 on Jan. 17, 2017, amid a loving circle of friends, following a diagnosis of lung cancer and metastatic bone disease.

And so, at age 80—despite various infirmities and a portable oxygen tank he called FiFi, Jan embarked on his last journey to Vienna, the city that held his heart, his artistic focus, family, friends, and a love for all things Hapsburg...and there he died on April 12, 2017, of pneumonia.

    AUGUSTA — Dorothy M. “Dot” Conway, 93, former Warren and Rockland resident, died peacefully on April 14, 2017, in her sleep.

    Born in Sidney on Feb. 4, 1924, she was the daughter of Edward “Gene” and Cecile Reed Skinner.

    On June 4, 1949, Dot married Kenneth S. Conway in Kittery. Ken and Dot made their home in Rockland for 25 years, before building a home together in Warren. They resided there for 11 years before Ken’s death on Feb. 24, 1985.

    Marion worked for more than 35 years in the fish factories. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife and mother. She loved crocheting and gifting her work to others, including Togus, Tall Pines and local preschools.
