Flags to half-staff to commemorate Pearl Harbor

    AUGUSTA – Governor Paul R. LePage has proclaimed Thursday, December 7, 2017, as "Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day," honoring the 75th anniversary of the attack on the United States at Pearl Harbor and paying tribute to the sacrifices of those who were at Pearl Harbor that historic day.
     
    U.S. and State of Maine flags should be lowered to half-staff Thursday, December 7, from sunrise to sunset to commemorate National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
     
    "Pearl Harbor Day is one of the significant anniversaries of World War II, which reminds of the great sacrifices our military men and women bear to defend and protect our freedoms," said Governor LePage. "We are a brave and resilient Nation because of these heroes, and I thank and honor the men and women, past and present, who have given so much for our country."
