    Oceanside slips past Panthers

    The Medomak Valley softball team hosted Oceanside Wednesday, but because of the rain this week the teams played on the middle school field as that as the one that Matt Lash and his crew could get ready for game time.

    "Want to acknowledge Mr. Matt Lash and his people today for their hard work on his Middle School Softball Field," said Oceanside manager Rusty Worcester. "After all this rain he got that field in playing condition and it was remarkable."

    The Medomak Valley athletic director Matt Lash and his crew of people, including Ryan McNelley and George Field worked for hours to try and get two field ready for game time at 4 pm Wednesday. Remarkably they managed to get the baseball field at the high school ready and the middle school field for softball.

    Rebecca  Milbury, 22, of Belfast, burglary in Bucksport Jan. 11, 2011, one year in jail with all but 30 days suspended and one year of probation.

    WARREN — The sprawling and often beleaguered Maine State Prison in Warren officially has a new leader: Rodney Bouffard, who has been acting warden there for the past several months.

    He stepped into the role following the abrupt leadership change in early February that ousted Patricia Barnhart from the warden's chair. Bouffard, who was at the Long Creek Youth Development Center as superintendent, subsequently stepped into the role of Maine State Prison warden.

    The program is put on locally for juniors and seniors ahead of graduation and when high school-age kids are often facing making tough choices that can have life-altering and deadly outcomes.
