Wreaths Across America convoy winds through Midcoast, pauses at Lincolnville Beach

    LINCOLNVILLE BEACH – "Here they come," shouted a voice from the crowd on Sunday, December 10, as the Wreaths Across America convoy came over the hill and into Lincolnville Beach. The convoy had left Washington County on Dec. 9, making its annual trek from Maine to Arlington Cemetery in Washington D.C. On board were some 200,000 wreaths in the 11 semi-trailer trucks.

    The convoy, escorted by law enforcement vehicles from around the state stopped briefly in Lincolnville for a ceremony, which including laying three wreaths in Frohock Brook to honor maritime members who had been lost at sea. A fourth wreath would be laid on the cannon on the beach.

    Police and fire units from Camden and Lincolnville participated along with the American Legion Color Guard from Post 30 in Camden.
