LINCOLNVILLE — A Lincolnville woman was arrested for operating without a license in violation of conditions following a single vehicle accident on Searsmont Road in Lincolnville Oct. 1.

Fern Marlborough, 40, first came to the attention of law enforcement when a concerned citizen reported the accident, which occurred around 6:00 p.m., according to a press release from the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy David Mushrall responded to the scene, where he spoke with Marlborough.

She reportedly stated she was traveling south when she attempted to answer her phone, causing her to lose control of the vehicle. Marlborough said that she over corrected the vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway and strike several trees before coming to rest.

Marlborough was transported to Waldo County General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. After she received treatment Mushrall attempted to place her under arrest, at which point Marlborough became combative.

This resulted in Marlborough also being charged with disorderly conduct, assault (two charges), and refusing to submit to arrest.
