BELFAST — Wendall A. Story, 76 of Monroe, died unexpectedly on Jan. 22, 2017, in Bangor. He was born in Old Town on June 4, 1940, to Linwood and Ruby (Lugdon) Story.

He served in the U.S. Army, stationed at Loring Air Force Base, where he met the love of his life, Madeline Kelley. They shared the love of the outdoors and enjoyed sharing that love with his family hunting, fishing and camping regularly.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Madeline; and his dog, Zeke II. He is survived by his sons, Scott Story and his wife Diana, and Steven Story and his wife, Toni, all of Monroe; his grandchildren, Kelsi, Kyle, Matthew and his wife, Danielle, and Felicia and her fiancé, Kevin; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Madelyn; a sister, Sheila Vaillancourt and her husband, Gene, of Old Town; two nephews, Travis and Benjamin and their families; two special friends, Charles Johnston and Chris Avery, as well as the entire Kelley family.

Family and friends may call Friday, Jan. 27, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave. in Belfast, where funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. with Father Stan officiating. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Kenney Cemetery in Brooks.
