Wayne R. Knight, 70, passed away Nov. 18, 2016, at home. Born in Bangor to the late Paul and Georgie Knight; he grew up in Newburgh.

Wayne proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of Vietnam and Iraq wars. He was the first in his family to graduate from college, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in accounting and business administration. A mechanic by trade known to be able to fix anything; he enjoyed Nascar and cooking.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents; and his brother, Harlan Knight. Surviving are his children, Heather Knight of Hermon, and Paul Knight and his wife, Amanda, of Hermon; his grandchildren, Sadé T. Knight, Destinee A. McBean-Knight, Ashton Knight and Ava Knight; his sister, Jackie Aubrey and her husband, Bryon, of Kenduskeag; his nieces and nephews; his beloved dog, Bear; and a host of loving friends who were more than just friends but truly family.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, Dec. 4, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Dysarts on Broadway in Bangor.
