Waldoboro runs past Camden in Babe Ruth preliminary round

WALDOBORO — In a preliminary round Midcoast Babe Ruth League baseball playoff game, No. 8 Waldoboro bested No. 9 Camden 11-2 at Waldoboro’s Begley Field Monday, July 6. 

With the victory, Waldoboro advances to the quarterfinal round and will challenge No. 1 Swan Lake Grocery Tuesday, July 7 at Belfast Area High School with a 5 p.m. start time. 

Waldoboro opened the game by plating a run in the first inning and tacked on two runs in the third, one in the fourth, two in the fifth and five in the sixth frame.

Meanwhile, Camden plated a run in the each the fourth and sixth stanzas. 

At the plate for Camden were Joergen Ostensen (single, triple), Conrad Crans (run), Connor Hedstrom (single), Dawson Allen (single) and Brady Hedstrom (run). 

At the plate for Waldoboro were Brent Stewart (two singles, two runs), Wyatt Post (three singles, two runs), Kody Prayne (single, double, run), Darvis Prepet (two singles, two runs), Kevin White (two singles), Brent Collamore (single, run), Ethan Spear (two singles, run) and Nick Hill (single, two runs).
