Waldoboro Recreation to host cheerleading tumbling classes

WALDOBORO — The Waldoboro Recreation Department is hosting a 10 week tumbling class specifically designed for those interested in cheerleading on Saturday afternoons beginning Sept. 3 at Medomak Middle School in Waldoboro, according to a press release, with no class on Oct. 8.

Cheer Tumbling is open to beginning, intermediate and advanced tumblers in grades K-12. There is no residency requirement or restriction. Grades K-4 (Noon to 1 p.m.), Grades 5-8 (1 p.m. to 2 p.m.) Grades 9-12 (2 p.m. to 3 p.m.).

Instruction (depending on skill level) will include standing back handsprings, back tucks, cartwheels, round offs and other cheer tumbling moves. Class sizes are limited to 15 students each. Cost is $110 per student. Matt Hanley, a Tri-State Champion gymnast from Element All-Stars will be instructing.

All participants must be registered no later than Thursday, Sept. 1.
