WALDOBORO — The Waldoboro Public Library Board of Trustees is in the planning stages of an exciting fundraising event on July 8 at the VFW Hall on Mill Street in Waldoboro. This event will combine a live auction conducted by Thomaston Auction Galleries, in addition to a silent auction, and a Brats n' Brewfest pre-auction tasting event.

The library is currently seeking auction donations, such as the following:

    • Lobster bakes
    • A week (or weekend )stay at a cottage or camp or time-share
    • Services, such as a master gardener's expertise, cleaning, landscaping, etc.
    • Lessons from expert musicians, cooks, athletes, artists, etc.
    • Antique furniture, collectables, and art in very good condition
    • Recreation experiences such as an RV for a week, kayak adventures, white water rafting, tickets to a sporting event
    • Personal experiences, like a day at the spa or private yoga instruction
    • Canoe, kayak or other recreation vehicle in great condition

Can you or your business help? It's a tax deductible way to promote your business via the auction advertising materials, and the auctioneer will also be naming the donors the evening of the event. The Library will provide donors with a receipt for tax purposes.
