Waldoboro Police beat: Theft of pop up camper, arrest warrants, damaged gas pump

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 147 calls for service from June 6-14. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. 

    June 6                       

    Officer Jeffery Fuller is investigating a report from a resident of the theft of his pop-up camper. 

    June 7                       

    Charles Maxcy, 30, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Officer Larry Hesseltine for a violation of conditional release. 

    June 8                       

    Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident on Kaler’s Corner at 5:06 p.m. Alexander Aiken, 35, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2012 Ford pickup truck. Russell Sirianni, 57, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2009 Pontiac sedan and was legally parked in a parking space. Aiken backed out of his parking space, failed to see Sirianni’s vehicle and struck it. No injuries were reported. 

    June 9 

    Timothy Simmons, 52, of Warren, was issued a summons by Hesseltine for operating after suspension.                       

    Steven Vannah, 29, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Officer Andrew Santheson on a warrant.                       

    Hesseltine is investigating a complaint from the Irving Store that someone damaged one of the gas pumps.                       

    Daniel Mckechnie, 27, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer Steven Drake for harvesting shellfish without a town license. 

    Roger Feltis, 24, of Canaan, was issued a summons by Drake for harvesting shellfish without a town license.                       

    Santheson investigated an accident on North Nobleboro Road at 1:27 p.m. William Gomez, 66, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2005 Toyota pickup truck. Jazmyne Schoppe, 17, of Islesboro, was driving a 2003 Toyota sedan. Schoppe, who was stopped in traffic due to paving being performed, was traveling southbound on Atlantic Highway. He was also stopped slightly over a crest of a hill. Gomez was traveling southbound at travel speed. He stated that he came over the top of the hill and saw Schoppe’s stopped vehicle. Gomez attempted to stop and navigate around Schoppe, but was unable to. No injuries were reported. 

    Luann Wahl, 43, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Santheson with disorderly conduct, offensive words or gestures. 

    June 10 

    A 16-year-old female juvenile from Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Fuller for criminal mischief. 

    June 11                       

    Kevin Bissonnette, 25, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Hesseltine on a warrant. 

    June 13                       

    Carrie Shockley, 37, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer Chris Spear for habitual truant student. 

    June 14                       

    Officers John Lash and Thomas Bartunek are investigating a report from a resident that someone broke into cabins and stole items.
