Waldoboro Police beat: Stolen truck from dealership, accidents

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 171 calls for service from Oct. 25-Nov.6. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. 

    Oct. 26     

    Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident on the Washington Road at 10:55 p.m. Danielle Whitehill, 25, of Appleton, was driving a 1990 Chevrolet pickup truck. Whitehill was traveling northbound following the roadway. A tree fell on his vehicle while it was in motion, causing damage to vehicle. No injuries were reported. 

    Oct. 28                                              

    Davis Crowell, 26, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Bartunek for aggravated reckless conduct, terrorizing, and violation of conditional release. 

    Oct. 30                                               

    Bartunek investigated an accident on the Ice House Road at 6:04 p.m. Richard Maguire, 52, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck. Maguire was traveling eastbound and while backing up his vehicle, backed into a tree causing damage to vehicle. No injuries were reported.           

    Joseph Richards, 34, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Officer John Lash for assault. 

    Oct. 31        

    Officer Larry Hesseltine is investigating a report from Tucker Chevrolet of the theft of a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu.

    Nov. 2         

    Jeremy Griffin, 27, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer William Bragg for harvesting clams without a town license.

    Logan Robitaille, 22, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Bartunek on a warrant.

    Nov. 3                                                

    Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen of criminal mischief to her vehicle.

    Nov. 5         

    Hesseltine investigated an accident on the Old Augusta Road at 12:30 a.m. Tristan Bissett, 21, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck. Bissett was traveling westbound, and his tires were spinning when the vehicle left the road on the left side and struck a guardrail. No injuries were reported.
