Waldoboro Police beat: Reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon; heaters, lawn mower stolen

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 131 calls for service from Aug. 9-15. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. 

    Aug. 9                                   

    John Burbank, 37, of Jefferson, was arrested by Officer Larry Hesseltine for operating under the influence and operating without a license. 

    Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen who reported the theft of some heaters and lawn furniture. 

    Aug. 10                       

    Theodore Cocco, 51, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer William Bragg for harvesting clams without a town license. 

    Aug. 11                       

    Steven McClure, 53, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Chief William Labombarde for aggravated criminal mischief and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon. 

    Officer Chris Spear investigated an accident on Main Street at 5:50 p.m. Blair Brown, 32, of Hope, was driving a 1999 Volvo sedan. Meghan Kennedy, 33, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2003 Honda sedan. Brown was traveling northbound, overtaking, passing on the right. Kennedy was traveling northbound making left turn with signal. Brown struck Kennedy. No injuries were reported. 

    Joao Gomez, 39, of Pawtucket, R.I., was arrested by Officer Thomas Bartunek for operating under the influence and operating without a license. 

    Aug. 13                                   

    Steven Thibodeau, 32, of Washington, was issued a summons by Officer John Lash for operating under the influence. 

    Spear is investigating a report from a citizen that someone damaged a window in her pickup truck. 

    Aug. 15                       

    Officer Jeffery Fuller is investigating a report from a citizen that someone tried to use his debit card. 

    Fuller is investigating a report from a citizen that she is being harassed by text messages. 

    Fuller is investigating a report from the Chevrolet Dealership that someone broke in and stole some items.
