Waldoboro Police beat: Pedestrian struck in three-car accident, bb gun damages car window

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 91 calls for service from Jan. 9-17. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. 

    Jan. 10      

    Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated a report from a citizen that she is being harassed. The subject was found and warned on harassment.

    Jan. 11      

    Officer Chris Spear investigated an accident at the intersection of Manktown Road and Atlantic Highway, at 2:02 p.m. Aidan Janes-Risteen, 16, of Warren, was driving a 2001 Toyota sedan. Judith Carrol, 66, of Jefferson, was driving a school bus. Janes-Risteen was traveling southbound, following the roadway on Manktown Road. He was traveling too closely and was given a citation for following too closely. Carrol was traveling southbound, following the roadway on Manktown Road, slowing for intersection. No injuries were reported. 

    Jan. 12                 

    Sgt. Jamie Wilson investigated an accident at the intersection of Friendship Road, Jefferson Street and Main Street, at 5:01 p.m. Judith Knowlton, 82, of Cushing, was driving a 2005 Toyota utility vehicle. Jessica Green, 44, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2010 Toyota sedan. Ashley MacLellan, 35, of Hancock, was driving a 1999 Subaru utility vehicle. The pedestrian was Jennifer Andrews, 47, of Nobleboro. Knowlton was traveling southbound on Jefferson Street. Green was traveling eastbound on Main Street. Knowlton did not stop for posted stop sign and entered intersection of Main Street without slowing. Green was entering the intersection as Knowlton was running a stop sign, and braked to avoid striking Knowlton. Green was unable to avoid Knowlton and hit her vehicle in rear passenger tire/fender area. Knowlton spun to the right and then hit MacLellan’s vehicle, which was parked legally on Friendship Road. MacLellan’s vehicle was pushed forward and over the southbound curb, striking a pedestrian that was crossing Friendship Road. Injuries were reported for the pedestrian. 

    Jan. 13      

    Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated a report from Maritime Farms of a gasoline drive off for $49.33. The subject was located, returned and paid for the gas. 

    Jan. 16  

    Bartunek investigated a report from a citizen about criminal mischief to his vehicle window. Someone shot the window with a bb gun.
