Waldoboro Police beat: multiple accidents with injuries

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 94 total calls for service from Aug. 15-22. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. 

    Aug. 17                                              

    Tiffany Turner, 22, of Warren, was issued a summons by Officer Larry Hesseltine for speed. 

    Officer Hesseltine investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 12:55 p.m. Brandon West, 29, of Windsor, was driving a 2001 International truck. Katilin Wallace, 29, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2009 Toyota sedan. West was traveling westbound on the Atlantic Highway, stopped in traffic. Wallace was also traveling westbound on the Atlantic Highway, following the roadway. Wallace stated to police that she fell asleep and ran into the back of West’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. 

    Officer Hesseltine investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 3:55 p.m. Alexander Burroughs, 38, of Bethesda Md. was driving a 2015 Nissan van. Eleanor Soule, 22, of Carlisle, Pa., was driving a 2014 Dodge van. Burroughs was traveling westbound on the Atlantic Highway, following the roadway. Soule was traveling westbound, following the roadway behind Burroughs who was stopped making a left turn. Soule was unable to stop and struck Burroughs. No injuries were reported.

    Aug. 18                                              

    Keenan Jones, 53, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Officer Chris Spear for operating under the influence and violation of conditional release. 

    Aug. 19      

    Officer Spear investigated a report of harassment from a citizen. The subject was found and warned on harassment.                    

    Officer Spear investigated an accident on the Union Road at 2:46 p.m. Richard Rawley, 78, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet sedan. Rawley was traveling northbound following the roadway. He left the roadway on the right side, traveled in the shoulder and embankment before going airborne across a driveway, striking a mailbox. No injuries were reported. 

    Aug. 20       

    Office Spear investigated an accident on the Bremen Road at 3:02 p.m. Karen Hanley, 52, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2017 BMW sport utility vehicle. Glenn Lewis, 61, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2003 Toyota pickup truck. Hanley’s vehicle was parked legally and unoccupied. Lewis was traveling eastbound leaving a parking space and struck Hanley’s vehicle as he backed out. No injuries were reported.                                                           

    Officer John Lash investigated an accident on the Finntown Road at 8:43 p.m. Santana Rytky, 21, of Cushing, was driving a 2006 Kia sedan with three passengers, Ryan Hupper, Amber Budd, and Tyler Barrows. Rytky was traveling northbound following the roadway, due to operation lost control, went off the road on the opposite side of the road and came back into northbound lane and off the road, striking a tree. Injuries were reported for the driver and three passengers. 

    Aug. 21      

    Officer Lash is investigating a report from a citizen of a stolen pair of ATV ramps.
