Waldoboro Police beat: Illegal firearm possession, warrants, thefts, accidents

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 349 calls for service from Nov. 9-17. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. 

    Nov. 10                     

    Leann McKusic, 42, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Officer John Lash for operating under the influence. 

    Neil Winchenbach, 57, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer Steven Drake for harvesting clams without a town license. 

    Briannah Parlin, 24, of South Thomaston, was issued a summons by Officer Larry Hesseltine for operating with a suspended license.                       

    Anna Morkeski, 28, of Damariscotta, was issued a summons by Hesseltine for theft. 

    Nov. 11     

    Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident at 6:27 p.m. on Bremen Road. Kevin King, 53, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2008 GMC pickup truck. A parked vehicle belonging to Charles Beach, 68, of Waldoboro, was a 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck. King was backing out of a parking spot, failed to see Beach’s vehicle which was legally parked, and struck it in the parking spot. No injuries were reported.

    Bartunek is investigating a report from a resident who lost his wallet and believes his credit card may have been used. 

    Nov. 12   

    Jessie Gehrmann, 29, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Hesseltine for burglary, theft and possession of a firearm by prohibited person. 

    Nov. 13

    Bartunek investigated an accident at 7:56 p.m. on Union Road. Christian Burton, 17, of Warren, was driving a 2001 Ford sedan. Burton’s vehicle was traveling north on Union Road when an unknown animal crossed the road and was struck. Injuries were reported. 

    Nov. 15        

    Kevin King, 53, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Hesseltine for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, unlawful possession of scheduled drug and theft by receiving stolen property. 

    Nov. 16  

    Bradford Davis, 39, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Bartunek on a warrant. 

    Stephen Parece, 29, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Lash on a warrant. 

    Bartunek investigated an accident on Friendship Road at 8:44 p.m. Catlin Brann, 17, of Friendship, was driving a 2003 Honda sedan. Brann was traveling south on Friendship Road when she struck a deer as it crossed the road in front of the vehicle. No injuries were reported. 

    Nov. 17  

    Officer Andrew Santheson investigated an accident on Atlantic Highway at 12:13 p.m. Joseph Gower, 59, of Waldoboro, was driving a 1995 Mercury sedan. Judith Carrol, 63, of Bristol, was driving a 2007 Toyota utility vehicle. Gower was traveling south on Atlantic Highway. Carrol was traveling toward Atlantic Highway in the driveway of the town office. Carrol stated she saw Gower turning right and stopped. Gower’s left front corner impacted Carrol’s driver’s left front corner when he turned. No injuries were reported. 

    Laurens Adam, 63, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Lash on a violation of conditional release.
