Waldoboro Police beat: Domestic violence assault, burglary, accidents

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 90 calls for service from Sept. 5-12. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. 

    Sept. 5    

    Officer Thomas Bartunek is investigating a report from a citizen that someone stole some items from her vehicle valued at approximately $53. 

    Sept. 6                                               

    Kenneth Judkins, 31, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Bartunek on a violation of conditional release.

    Sept. 7                                               

    Seth Wills, 40, of Rome, was issued a summons by Officer Larry Hesseltine for speed and failure to show proof of insurance.

    Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen of the theft of items out of her barn.

    Sept. 8        

    Alisha Maxcy, 27, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Hesseltine for domestic violence assault.               

    Sgt. Jamie Wilson investigated an accident at the intersection of Union Road/Atlantic Highway, at 3:53 p.m. Laurie Kilby, 29, of Freedom, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet sedan. Jewell Galetta, 51, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2015 Hyundai utility vehicle. Galetta was travelling southbound on the Union Rd and stopped at the intersection of Atlantic Highway. Kilby was also travelling southbound on the Union Road and stopped behind Galetta who pulled ahead some and again stopped to wait for traffic to pass. Kilby also pulled ahead and struck Galetta. No injuries were reported. 

    Sept. 9     

    Officer Andrew Santheson investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 6:23 a.m. Justin Richards, 28, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2003 Dodge van. Richards was traveling north on the Atlantic Highway. He gradually drifted off to the right side of the road. The operator stated that a deer jumped out in front of him. No injuries were reported.

    Sept. 10   

    Gail Fearing, 58, of Rockland, was issued a summons by Hesseltine for uninspected motor vehicle. 

    Sept. 11          

    Hesseltine investigated a report from a citizen of a burglary with approximately $1000 worth of items stolen.
