Waldoboro Police beat: Domestic violence assault, arrest warrants, operating after suspension

    WALDOBORO - Waldoboro police responded to 114 calls for service from Feb. 2-8. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

    Feb. 2 

    Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated an accident on Pleasant Street at 2:15 p.m. Zettie Matthews 76, of Union, was driving a 2009 Toyota sedan. Deborah Blackford, 55, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2012 Toyota sedan. Matthews was traveling was eastbound, following the roadway and failed to keep in proper lane. Blackford was traveling westbound, following the roadway and was struck by Matthews. No injuries were reported. 

    Feb. 3 

    Lauri-Jo Farrar, 42, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Hesseltine on a warrant. 

    Anna Martz, 22, of Union, was issued a summons by Hesseltine for operating after suspension. 

    Officer Thomas Bartunek is investigating a report from a citizen that someone attempted the theft of his chainsaw. 

    Feb. 4 

    Larry Wellman, 37, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Hesseltine for attaching false plates. 

    Feb. 5 

    Kaitlyn Moholland, 23, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Hesseltine for operating after suspension. 

    Feb. 6 

    Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated an accident on Winslows Mills Road at 2:10 p.m. Shelley Richardson, 47, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2008 Mercury utility vehicle. Richardson lost control due to road conditions, left the roadway and the vehicle came to rest down an embankment on its side. Injuries were reported.  

    Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident on Back Cove Road at 7:27 p.m. Colby Wadleigh, 19, of Newcastle, was driving a 2005 Nissan sedan. Wadleigh was traveling west on Back Cove Road, lost control while rounding a corner on icy road, and struck a Central Maine Power utility pole. No injuries were reported. 

    Colby Wadleigh was summonsed for attaching false plates, operating without a license and failure to show proof of insurance. 

    Feb. 7 

    Timothy Benner, 48, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Officer John Lash for domestic violence assault, criminal mischief and obstructing report of crime. 

    Fuller investigated a report from the Big Apple of a $15.29 gasoline drive off. The subject was located and returned to pay for the gasoline. 

    Brodrick Paton, 22, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Fuller on a warrant. 

    Fuller is investigating a report from a citizen that someone smashed out the windows on his truck. 

    Feb. 8 

    Fuller is investigating a report from a citizen that she is being harassed by an ex-boyfriend.
