Waldoboro Police beat: Domestic violence assault, accidents

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 111 calls for service from Sept. 12-19. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

    Sept. 14

    Robert Lacombe, 32, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Officer John Lash for domestic violence assault.

    Laurie Jo Farrar, 43, of Waldoboro, was charged by Officer Larry Hesseltine for operating after suspension and expired motor vehicle registration.

    Hesseltine investigated an accident at the Kaler's Corner, Bremen Road and Main Street intersection at 12:30 p.m. Christine Boisvert, 72, of Friendship, was driving a 2013 Volkswagen sedan and Fredric Nichols, 65, of Belpre, Ohio, was driving a 2016 Dodge pickup truck. Boisvert was traveling eastbound on Main Street, following the roadway. Nichols was heading southbound, on the Kaler's Corner Road, and as he was starting into traffic he struck Boisvert's vehicle. No injuries were reported.

    Sept. 17

    Officer Jeffery Fuller is investigating a report of a $29.76 gasoline drive off from the Big Apple.

    Fuller investigated an accident at the Kaler's Corner, Bremen Road and Main Street intersection. Priscilla Simmons, 77, of Friendship, was driving a 2006 Toyota utility vehicle and Elizabeth Griffin, 34, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2002 Toyota utility vehicle. Simmons was traveling southbound, turning from Kaler's Corner onto Main Street, and allegedly failed to yield the right of way while negotiating a left turn. Griffin was northbound on the Bremen Road, and Simmons' vehicle struck Griffin's vehicle. No injuries were reported.

    Sept. 19

    Miguel Batz, 31, of Waldoboro, was charged by Fuller for operating after suspension and violation of conditional release.

    Officer Thomas Bartunek is investigating a report from a citizen of criminal mischief to her motor vehicle.
