Waldoboro Police beat: Burglary of Little League concession stand, domestic violence

    WALDOBORO - Waldoboro police responded to 265 calls for service from June 23-29. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.   

    June 23                       

    Robert Harvey, 22, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer William Bragg for harvesting clams without a town license. 

    June 24       

    Officer Thomas Bartunek is investigating a report from a resident of the theft of some diesel fuel. 

    June 25 

    Benjamin Day, 36, of Woolwich, was arrested by Officer Larry Hesseltine for reckless conduct and two charges of violation of conditional release.                       

    Officer Larry Hesseltine is investigating a report that the Little League concession stand was broken into. 

    Shawn Brewer, 32, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Hesseltine on a warrant. 

    Sergeant Jamie Wilson investigated a report from a resident of harassment. The other party was found and served with a harassment order. 

    Philip Russomano, 62, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Officer Thomas Bartunek for domestic violence assault. 

    June 26 

    Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 12:50 p.m. Sylvia Percy, 47, of Warren, was driving a 2005 Chrysler sedan. Percy was making a right turn into the Circle K store and was struck by an unknown vehicle while making the turn. The unknown vehicle was attempting to pass Percy’s vehicle in the breakdown lane on the right side. 

    June 27           

    Fuller investigated an accident on Atlantic Highway at 10:34 a.m. Geraldine Day, 63, of Cushing, was driving a 2005 Chrysler van.  Day’s passengers were Iris Day, 88, and Candace Day. Lynda Pinkham, 48, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet utility vehicle.  Day failed to stop, struck Pinkham’s vehicle, causing her vehicle to leave the roadway and come to rest in the yard of Wink’s Auto. 

    June 28 

    Officer Chris Spear is investigating a report from a resident that windshield wipers were stolen from his vehicle while it was parked on Main Street. 

    June 29   

    Shawn Brewer, 32, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Fuller for domestic violence assault.           

    Brian Bennett, 34, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Office John Lash for operating a motor cycle without endorsement, operating without a license, and operating after suspension.
