Waldoboro Police beat: Aggravated assault, stolen mail, accidents

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 151 calls for service from May 7-15. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

    May 7            

    Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated a report from a citizen that she is being harassed. The subject was found and warned on harassment.

    May 8            

    Chief William Labombarde is investigating a report from a citizen of harassment via text and phone.              

    Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated an accident at the intersection of Friendship/Jefferson and Main Street, at 3:27 p.m. Katherine Brown, 57, of Union, was driving a 2017 school bus. Carol Brockett’s 2010 Chrysler sedan was parked legally. Brown was making a right turn onto Friendship Road from Main Street, headed southbound. Brown struck Brockett’s vehicle on the driver’s rear corner. Brockett was legally parked and inside the outlined parking space. No injuries were reported. 

    May 9         

    Hesseltine investigated an accident at the Kalers Corner, Bremen Road Main Street intersection, at 2:00 p.m. Clyde Poland, 45, of Bremen, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck. Lester Feltis, 28, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2004 GMC pickup truck. Poland was traveling westbound following the roadway. Feltis was heading northbound, starting in traffic and failed to yield right of way. No injuries were reported.

    May 11       

    Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 6:21 a.m. Sarah Doyle, 40, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet sedan. Doyle was driving southbound when a deer ran out in front of the vehicle. No injuries were reported.

    May 14       

    Ronald Spellman, 44, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Bartunek for aggravated assault and obstructing the report of a crime.

    Fuller is investigating a report from a citizen of stolen mail and packages.
