The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency reported Thursday morning, March 16, that two Bedford, Massachusetts, men were arrested in Waldoboro on heroin related charges. 

Cameron Soto, 34, has been charged with Class A, Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Heroin/Fentanyl), and Trevor Teves, 18), charged with Class C, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person.

For the past month, agents assigned to MDEA's Mid-Coast District Task Force, along with deputies from the Knox County Sheriff's Office and Rockland Police, have been investigating Soto in connection with the distribution of heroin/fentanyl and cocaine in Knox County, according to a news release from the Maine Office of Public Safety.

Soto earlier this year was released from the Maine State Prison after serving a sentence for a 2013 conviction for Aggravated Trafficking in Oxycodone.

On Wednesday afternoon, March 15, Waldoboro Police and drug agents located Soto and Teves in a vehicle parked in a parking lot at the Waldoboro/Warren Town line as they were preparing to travel to Massachusetts.

Agents arrested Soto and seized about six grams of heroin/fentanyl, scales and $1,800 in suspected drug proceeds, the release said. Teves was arrested after a loaded 9mm handgun was located in his pocket.

Teves is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing guns, police said.

Both men were taken to the Knox County Jail where bail was set for Soto at $25,000 cash and $1,000 cash for Teves.
