BELFAST — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity Sept. 25-Oct. 3. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.

    Sept. 19 (late entries)

Deputy Cody Laite responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident on Moosehead Trail in Waldo. According to witness statements, the operator was allegedly driving erratically prior to the crash, telling Laite the 2006 Dodge passenger van was "all over the road," swerving across both the center and fog lines. The operator reportedly failed to navigate a sweeping corner, instead driving off the road and colliding head-on with a tree. The operator, who was eventually arrested for operating under the influence refused medical treatment. The vehicle, which Laite estimated as a total loss, was towed from the scene.
