Waldo County Sheriff’s Office beat: Slippery road accidents, fugitive from justice arrest

    BELFAST — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity Jan. 15-20. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. 

    Jan. 15

    Benjamin F. Spencer, 48, of Dayton, Va., was arrested for a fugitive from justice warrant out of Virginia. He was located driving on Belfast Road in Lincolnville.

    Stephen E. Boyle, 43, of Northport, was issued summonses for operating after suspension and violating conditions of release on Belfast Road in Lincolnville. 

    Jan. 18

    Deputy Darrin Moody responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident on Mount Road in Burnham where the operator attempted to brake after noticing oncoming traffic beginning to slide. Due to the snowy conditions the operator lost control after pulling off to the right and striking a rock, which resulted in the vehicle coming to rest on the driver’s side door. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver was transported to the hospital for evaluation by her husband. 

    Deputy Darrin Moody responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident on Moody Road in Burnham where the operator lost control due to conditions, striking a tree. The vehicle was towed from the scene and both occupants reported possible general injuries. 

    Jan.19

    Ronnie J. Clark, 36, of Belfast, was issued a summons for an inspection sticker violation on High Street in Belfast.

    Michael D. Thompson, 40, of Belfast, was issued a summons for an inspection sticker violation on High Street in Belfast. 

    Vicki L. Nickerson, 50, of Belfast, was issued a summons for harassment on Heal Road in Lincolnville.
