Waldo County Sheriff’s Office beat: Reckless driving, accidents

    BELFAST — The Waldo Count Sheriff's Office reported the following activity Aug. 4-11. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.

    July 28 (late entry)

    Deputy Jordan Tozier responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident, where an operator exiting the roadway struck a driveway embankment, causing the vehicle to become airborne for approximately 35 yards. The vehicle came down in a soft ditch where it came to rest. The vehicle was towed from the scene and there were no injuries.

    July 30 (late enrty)

    Justin J. Wardwell, 41, of Hampden, was issued summonses for failure to make a report by quickest means and leaving the scene of a property damage accident on Route 1 in Stockton Springs.

    Aug. 2 (late entries)

    Kevin J. Secotte, 30, of Thomaston, was issued a summons for imprudent speed on Swan Lake Avenue in Swanville.

    Deputy Benjamin Seekins reported to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Swan Lake Avenue in Swanville, where a vehicle driven by Trey L. Harford, 22, of Swanville, reportedly sped up as a second vehicle attempted to pass. This led to both vehicles driving straight off the left side of the road as it veered to the right. The vehicle attempting to pass, a 2001 Toyota driven by Hayden F. Campbell, 22, of Swanville, rolled over after leaving the roadway, while the second vehicle, a 1993 Mazda, came to rest in a field. Both vehicles were towed from the scene and Harford complained of general pain while Campbell was left uninjured. Both drivers were issued summonses for driving to endanger, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, operating after suspension and failure to provide proof of insurance.

    Aug. 4

    Scotty E. Clark, 31, of Waldo, was issued summonses for operating after habitual offender revocation on Cross Road in Morrill and operating an ATV on a public way.

    Aug. 6

    Kirsten B. Poma, 22, of Portland, was issued a summons for an inspection sticker violation.

    Gregory Aldus, 48, of Prospect, was arrested for theft of mislaid property.

    Aug. 7

    Eric L. Nickerson, 42, of Jackson, was issued a summons for failure to register a motor vehicle.

    Deputy Daniel Thompson responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Route 1 in Lincolnville, where the operator of one vehicle struck the side of the other. The first vehicle had stopped at an intersection before pulling out and into the side of the second vehicle. Both vehicles were towed and there were no injuries.

    Aug. 8

    Eric Harvey, 27, of Swanville, was arrested for failure to appear.

    Kerston Lane, 37, of Brooks, was arrested for aggravated cultivation of marijuana.

    Aug. 9

    Joshua Reynolds, 29, of Freedom, was arrested for unpaid fines.

    Travis Shaw, 30, of Unity, was issued a summons for a seat belt violation.

    Deputy Thompson responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Webb Road in Knox, where one vehicle was approaching the intersection with Bailey Road at the same time as a vehicle approaching the end of Bailey Road. The driver reportedly told Deputy Thompson that the vehicle did not appear to be slowing enough to yield safely, causing him to slow to avoid a collision. A second vehicle traveling behind did not see the driver slowing and rear-ended the vehicle. Both vehicles were towed and there were no injuries.

    Aug. 11

    Tanya A. Boudreau, 33, of Brooks, was issued a summons for operating after revocation on Route 139 in Brooks.
