Waldo County Sheriff’s beat: Speeding, violating conditions of release, sticker violations

    BELFAST — The Waldo County Sheriff's Department reported the following activity Aug. 12-22. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.

    Aug. 7 (late entry)

    Glenn Johnson, 34, of Union, was issued a summons for violating a protective order.

    Aug. 10 (late entry)

    Deputy Jonathan Shaw responded to the scene of a two vehicle accident on Detroit Road in Troy where the operator of a vehicle traveling on the road came quickly upon a second vehicle, which was attempting to turn left into a driveway. The operator reportedly told Deputy Shaw they attempted to avoid the second vehicle, but struck it when they pulled in front of the vehicle. Both vehicle were towed and there were no reported injuries.

    Aug. 12

    Scott D. Vannah, 31, of Belfast, was issued a summons for an inspection sticker violation.

    Angela Noyes, 43, of Liberty, was issued a summons for operating after revocation on West Main Street in Liberty.

    Matthew Hubbard, 34, of Unity, was issued a summons for operating after suspension on Route 220 in Knox and violation conditions of release. Hubbard was also issued summonses operating after suspension and violating conditions of release on Quaker Hill Road in Unity Aug. 14.

    Aug. 13

    Deputy Darrin Moody responded to the scene of a deer v. car accident on East Main Street in Searsport. The vehicle was operable and the driver was uninjured.

    Aug. 15

    Angel L. Sieber, 36, of Prospect, was issued a summons for operating after suspension on Fort Knox Road in Prospect.

    Melena Coombs, 34, of Bangor, was issued a summons for an inspection sticker violation.

    Jeffrey D. Reynolds, 19, St. Albans, was issued a summons for improper passing on Route 7 in Jackson.

    Aug. 16

    John Hale, 51, of Falmouth, was issued a summons for improper passing on Route 3 in Liberty.

    Deputy Jonathan Shaw responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident on North Main Street in Morrill where the operator was reportedly traveling too quickly, resulting in a loss of control of the vehicle, a 1998 Saab. Losing control of the vehicle caused it to exit the roadway into a ditch where it reportedly turned while mid-air, landing facing toward the road before rolling over and coming to rest on its roof. The operator of the vehicle, Christopher L. Duval, 30, of Morrill, was uninjured. He was arrested for operating under the influence, operating a vehicle without a license (beyond restriction/condition) and failure to notify of an accident by quickest means.

    Juan J. Alcala, 42, of Lincolnville, was issued a summons for speeding 39 mph in a 25 mph zone on Route 7 in Brooks.

    Geoffrey R. Hart, 68, of Belfast, was issued summonses for speeding 47 mph in a 25 mph zone on Route 7 in Brooks and an inspection sticker violation.

    Aug. 18

    Shawn Gerry, 45, of Northport, was arrested for failure to appear for charges of theft and assault.

    Aug. 21

    Perley C. Tucker Jr., 71, of Unity, was issued summonses for violating conditions of release and falsifying physical evidence.
