Waldo County Sheriff’s beat: Inadequate tires, OUI

    BELFAST — The Waldo County Sheriff's Department reported the following activity Aug. 21 – Sept. 4. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.

    Aug. 17 (late entry)

    Brian Carroll, 29, of Swanville, was arrested for violating conditions of release at Belfast Variety.

    Aug. 21

    John D. Bubar, 32, of Thorndike, was issued a summonses for possession of a useable amount of marijuana.

    Aug. 22

    Steven M. Lydem, 40, of Troy, was issued summonses for operating under the influence on Detroit Road in Troy, endangering the welfare of a child and driving to endanger. All summonses stem from offenses allegedly committed May 16.

    Aug. 23

    David B. Corson, 52, of Unity, was issued a summons for failure to provide proof of insurance.

    Michael A. Brillard, 29, of Thorndike, was issued a summons for operating while revoked on Depot Street in Unity.

    Aug. 24

    Brandon M. Gowan, 30, of Troy, was issued a summons for operating with two inadequate tires.

    Aug. 25

    Deputy Daniel Thompson responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on North Palermo Road in Freedom where a truck that was pulling out of a driveway to attempt backing in again failed to see a vehicle approaching. The second vehicle attempted to avoid the collision by going into a ditch, but was unable to avoid hitting the truck.

    Deputy Daniel Thompson responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident on Unity Road in Thorndike where the operator lost control of their vehicle when a piece of the vehicle's suspension broke. The vehicle skidded sideways into a guardrail with its front end before coming to rest in the road. The driver was uninjured and the vehicle was towed.

    Aug. 26

    Peter McLaughlin, 51, of Lincolnville, was arrested for a probation violation.

    Aug. 27

    Tommy Tucker, 48, of Solon, was issued summonses for operating after revocation on Village Road in Jackson, failure to provide proof of insurance, failure to register a vehicle (30-150 days) and an inspection sticker violation.

    Leonard E. Maker, 43, of Searsmont, was issued summonses for violating a protective order on Aug. 15, violating conditions of release and violating a protective order on Aug.16.

    Aug. 28

    Jason R. Huft, 39, of Union, was issued a summons for false public alarm on Bangor Road in Unity.

    Andrea Danforth, 53, of Frankfort, was issued a summons for operating an unregistered vehicle on Loggin Road in Frankfort.

    Brock G. Bissonette, 26, of Prospect, was issued summonses for obstructing the report of a crime and domestic violence assault.

    Arthur E. Williams, 22, of Brooks, was arrested for domestic violence assault on Valley Road in Brooks.

    Aug. 29

    Ashley R. Briggs, 30, of Frankfort, was issued a summons for speeding 74 mph in a 45 mph zone on North Searsport Road in Swanville.

    Michael Corey, 42, of Brewer, was issued a summons for driving to endanger on North Main Street in Winterport.

    Sept. 2

    Lloyd M. Clark, 81, of Jackson, was issued a summons for indecent conduct on Valley Road in Jackson stemming from an incident June 30.
