BELMONT - Virginia A. Morang, 89, of Belmont, passed away on Nov. 7, 2016, in Bangor. She was born March 5, 1927, in Hallowell, the daughter of Perley and Mae (Clark) Richardson.

After attending school in Hallowell, she worked briefly at the State House before moving to Boston to work at the hospital there.

Virginia returned back to Maine and met and married her husband, Roland Morang Sr., and they started their family of three children.

She worked at Waldo Shoe, Truitt Bros and Tall Pines. Virginia and her husband also tried their hand at poultry farming in Belmont. Virginia loved homemaking as well as spending time reading and walking at the YMCA, which she did up until the day she was hospitalized.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband in 2003; and twin brothers, Alden and Alton. Virginia is survived by her children, Judy Ford and her husband, John Sr., of Brooks, Roland Morang Jr. and his wife, Jean, of New Portland, and Stephen Morang of Searsmont; her sister, Charlotte Charest of Wiscasset; her grandchildren, John Ford Jr. of Jackson and James Morang of Arizona; her great-grandchildren, Lucas, Elizabeth and Anna Ford, all of Unity; a special niece, Jeanne Parvin; as well as several other nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 14, at 1 p.m. at the chapel at Maine Veterans Cemetery on Mt. Vernon Road in Augusta.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Belmont First Responders or Belfast Ambulance, 273 Main Street, Belfast, ME 04915.
