VINALHAVEN — Vera R. Ames, 89, of Vinalhaven, died Sept. 13, 2014, at the Ivan Calderwood Homestead. A complete obituary will be published later.

There will be a memorial service Saturday, Sept. 20 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant River Chapel on Vinalhaven. Interment will be held in Brown's Head Cemetery followed by a reception.
