OWLS HEAD — Vada B. McCullough, 63, died peacefully Oct. 28, 2015, at home, with her husband at her side.

Born in Rockville, Conn., on Aug. 1, 1952, she was the daughter of Robert Walsh. Vada attended local schools, graduating from Rockland District High School in 1970.

On June 26, 1982, Vada married Glenn McCullough. Together they made their home in Owls Head their entire married life.

Following the birth of her son, Vada worked for several years in the production department at the Courier Gazette. Later she moved on to a career as a bartender and manager. For many years she was the smiling face behind a couple local bars on Main Street in Rockland. Along the way she also worked at the Rockland Golf Club. She finished her career with more than 20 years at the Rockland Lodge of Elks as bar manager. She made many lasting friendships there.

When not working, Vada enjoyed crafting. She was talented with everything she tried, however she took particular joy in completing works of stain glass, and paintings on wood.

She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

Predeceased by her father; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Souweine; Vada is survived by her husband, Glenn, of Owls Head; her son, Eric McCullough of Warren; one granddaughter, Kaitlyn McCullough of Rockland; one brother, Sidney Walsh and his wife, Karen, of South Thomaston; her niece and nephews, Jennifer, Jeremey and Matthew; one brother-in-law, Leon Souweine of Bangor; her niece and nephew, Kristen Martin and David Souweine; and her great-niece and nephews, Alderic Martin, and Lilly and Spencer Souweine.

A graveside celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. at Achorn Cemetery in Rockland. The Rev. Peter Jenks will officiate.
