ROCKPORT – As of Friday afternoon, April 28, three more Rockport citizens indicated their intent to run for the Select Board, filling the June 2017 ballot with a robust roster of candidates. According to Rockport Town Clerk Linda Greenlaw, and as of 1 p.m., there are now six candidates who have returned their nomination papers to the town office, all competing for two open seats. The deadline is 5 p.m. today.

There are two open three-year seats on the Select Board, currently occupied by Chairman Bill Chapman Geoff Parker. The incumbents are both running again, and are now facing four others: Ted Skowronski, Anastasia Ileana Fischer, Doug Cole and Mark Kelley.

The latter three just took out papers within the past week.

There are also two candidates who took out papers to fill a Select Board seat that was vacated earlier in April when Brendan Riordan resigned.

The two who indicated they want to run for his two-year term are Thomas Gray and Debra Hall. They have yet, however, to return their nomination papers.
