Thursday, July 24

Free Concert in the Park features Midcoast Brass Quintet, 7 p.m. in the Camden Amphitheatre; bring blankets or chairs for seating. Sponsored by Camden Public Library and Camden National Bank. In the case of rain, the concert will move indoors. 


Friday, July 25 

Camden Shakespeare Festival  presents As You Like It in the Camden Amphitheater, 6 p.m. For reservations call 207-464-0008. The Camden Public Library is the venue sponsor for the Shakespeare performances.

Monday, July 28 

Free Movie in the Park: Secondhand Lions (2003; 109 minutes; PG). 8 p.m. in the Camden Amphitheatre; bring blankets or chairs for seating. Sponsored by Camden Public Library and Camden National Bank.  


 Tuesday, July 29 

A new travelling exhibit created by the ALA and NEH, Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War, will be on display at the Camden Public Library through September 4. The exhibit is part of the Library’s “Maine and the Civil War” events in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.  


 Wednesday, July 30 

Wednesday in the Park concert features David Dodson, hosted by Parks & Rec, noon in the Camden Amphitheatre. 


 Thursday, July 31 

First speaker in the Camden Public Library’s Civil War series, 7 p.m. Lee Webb will speak on the economics and sharply divided politics in “Maine During the Civil War.”

Saturday, August 2 

Children’s Fair to Benefit CRMS Grade 7 Exchange Program, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m, Camden Amphitheatre (rain date Saturday, Aug. 9).  There will be activities appropriate for pre-school and early elementary ages including water balloon toss, face-painting, egg on a spoon races, cake-walk game, craft activities, “fishing” for prizes, beanbag toss, a small pen with ducks, a visiting sheep from Aldermere, washable tattoos, a baking soda and vinegar “volcano,” raffle baskets, and fiddle music.  A suggested minimum donation of $10 per family would be deeply appreciated.


Saturday, August 2

Camden artist Linda Norton will celebrate the opening of her new exhibit at the Camden Public Library with a reception in the Picker Room, 2 p.m, all are welcome. Norton’s fine watercolors portray contemporary nautical and maritime themes and scenes.

An Evening with Walt Whitman performed by actor Stephen Collins at the Camden Public Library, 7 p.m. The performance is part of the library’s “Maine and the Civil War” series. 


 Wednesday, August 6

 Wednesday in the Park concert features guitarist/singer Jim Gallant, hosted by Camden Parks & Recreation, noon in the Camden Amphitheatre. 


Thursday, August 7

The Alice Limoges Band performs for the Summer Concert Series, 7 p.m. in the Camden Amphitheatre. Bring blankets or chairs for seating; if the weather is rainy the concert will be indoors. Sponsored by the Camden Public Library and Allen Insurance & Financial.
