UNITY — A Unity man was arrested Aug. 18, following a reported domestic disturbance on the Bangor Road in Unity.

Sergeant Nicholas Oettinger and Deputies Wiley McVety and Kyle Wasiela responded to the call.

Once on scene, the female complainant stated she had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend, Andrew Stewart, 28, after he returned home from work "upset with her," according to a news release.

The woman reportedly told law enforcement Stewart had struck her with his head, and threatened to "kill her and burn down their home," the release said.

She also said that Stewart had taken her phone from her in an attempt to prevent her from calling for help. The complainant used a neighbor's phone to report the crime.

Deputies located Stewart in a field near the residence, where he was arrested and transported to the Waldo County Correctional Center.

Andrew Stewart was charged with domestic assault, domestic terrorizing, obstructing the report of a crime and violation of conditions of release.

Stewart was arraigned and $1,500 cash bail was set.
