UNION — Mother's Day, Sunday, May 10, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., treat Mom to a day of wine and chocolates. Savage Oakes Vineyard and Winery is teaming up with Sweetgrass Farm Winery and Distillery to offer Mom a memorable day of wine, spirits, and chocolates.

Sip wine and sample. Chocolatiers and winemakers will be on hand to discuss their creations and pairings.

Savage Oakes Vineyard and Winery will play host to three Maine food producers: Bixby Bars, Stone Fox Creamery ice cream, and Goated Carmel; all paired with their latest wine releases. There will be many pairings to choose from, but to get started Bixby and Co. will pair their Dark Chocolate Blueberry Black Pepper Walnut bar with Barn Red dry wine or Blue Moon dry blueberry wine.

Or, perhaps Nor'easter port drizzled over Stone Fox Farm's Salted Caramel ice cream. Sugar Goated will have their ultra-creamy caramel to pair with General Knox or Georges River white. Two new wines will be introduced to the lineup, Blushing Moose and Entwined.

Entwined was featured during last year's Open Winery Day.

Sweetgrass Farm Winery and Distillery, producer of wines and spirits including Back River Gin, will be hosting the chocolate maker Dean's Sweets from Portland. Sample their chocolates paired with Savage Oakes wines. Dean's Sweets double dark chocolate truffle pairs especially well with Blueberry Cabernet Sauvignon.

Whiskey will be distilled and samples of two cocktails will be available: the Mellow Yellow, a lemony alternative to a gin and tonic, and in honor of Mother's Day, the Rose of Mary.
