ROCKPORT — A two-vehicle crash Saturday morning, May 20, around 11 a.m., stopped traffic in both directions at the intersection of Warrenton and Commercial streets on Route 1 after a collision disabled both vehicles with the drivers escaping injury.

Camden Police Officer Brook Hartshorn responded to the crash scene while Rockport Police were already dispatched to another call.

According to Hartshorn, the accident occurred when Aubrie E. Powell, 33, of Warren, was making a left hand turn onto Warrenton Street from Commercial Street and Valerie A. Landsburg, 58, of Rockland, hit her vehicle and sideswiped it in the rear end.

Hartshorn attributed the accident to Landsburg following too closely behind Powell’s vehicle.

Powell was driving a 2007 Subaru and Landsburg a 2007 Toyota. Both cars were disabled and were towed away from the crash scene by Camden Exxon.

Rockport firefighters managed traffic control at the intersection and quickly cleared the crash scene.
