Two from Bangor arrested for drug trafficking in connection to Rockport death April 6

    ROCKPORT — A joint investigation between the Rockport Police Department and Maine Drug Enforcement has led to two Bangor residents being charged with trafficking fentynal, a Class B crime.

    MDEA agents arrested Melody Paul, 36, and Charles Michaud, 52, on April 19, in Bangor. Paul and Michaud are currently being held at the Knox County Jail in Rockland.

    Bail has been set at $10,000 cash for each.

    According to Rockport Police Chief Randy Gagne, the charges were the result of a death investigation reported in Rockport on April 6. He said that evidence obtained at the time of the death lead investigators to Paul and Michaud.

    Gagne said the investigation is ongoing, that investigators are waiting on autopsy results at this time and further charges may be pending.
