Troy Howard claims third consecutive field hockey crown

ROCKLAND — At the Oceanside field hockey field in Rockland Monday, Oct. 20, the top seeded Troy Howard battled second seeded Boothbay in the middle school field hockey championship. 

For Troy Howard, they came into the match seeking a third straight championship game victory, while for Boothbay, not only would they win the crown, but they would upset the two-time defending champion.

Ultimately, Troy Howard was rewarded with another crown as they bested Boothbay 4-0 and took home its third consecutive championship victory back to Belfast. 

Other results in the middle school playoffs, which came after an eight game regular season, included #4 Oceanside defeating #5 Great Salt Bay 4-0 in the quarterfinals, #1 Troy Howard besting #4 Oceanside 1-0 in one semifinal match and #2 Boothbay topping #3 Camden-Rockport 4-3 in another semifinal.
