Troy Howard, Camden-Rockport middle school soccer teams win championships
NORTHPORT — Four middle school soccer teams descended on Northport — namely Point Lookout — in hopes of leaving with a championship trophy Saturday, Oct. 25.
Out of the four teams — Troy Howard and Camden-Rockport in the boys championship and Camden-Rockport and Medomak in the girls — only two teams left with a championship trophy.
Those two teams were the Troy Howard boys and the Camden-Rockport girls.
The first contest of the day was the boys championship, which saw #2 Troy Howard upset #1 Camden-Rockport 3-1, who entered the game undefeated.
In the second, and final contest, of the day, the top seeded Camden-Rockport girls bested third seeded Medomak Middle School 3-1 to keep its perfect season in tact.
The co-ed championship was orginially scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 25, but was postponed to Tuesday, Oct. 28. In that championship contest, Hope and Bristol will go head-to-head in hopes of winning the championship trophy.
