THOMASTON — On Saturday, December 9, Thomaston Grammar School held its third annual Cookies With Santa event.

Students were able to shop for five family members, friends, or pets with a personal shopper to help them. While students shopped, the adult(s) who attended with them went into our cookie room to relax, eat cookies and drink coffee or cocoa while they waited for their shoppers. After students shopped, their gifts were wrapped for them and then they were able to go the cookie room to join their adult companions.

Students in all classes made ornaments that were for sale at the event. All students made ornaments in art class with Mrs. Eddy, and some made ornaments in their classrooms, as well.

Santa made a special appearance at the event and students were able to have their photo taken by Principal Riley. The photos will be sent home to students as keepsakes from the event. The event also included a raffle.

The Thomaston Grammar School would like to thank the The Maine State Prison Showroom, Hampton Inn Thomaston, Rock Harbor Hotel, and Green Leaf Roofing for donating prizes for the raffle. This great event would not have been a success without the help of many volunteers from the TGS staff and their families, parent volunteers, and Oceanside High School student volunteers. It takes a community to hold and event like this one. A big thank you goes out to all who helped, from making cookies, to setting up, to volunteering at the event, to cleaning up; it could not have happened without a team effort.
