APPLETON - Thomas Hale Eddy, 60, of Appleton, died Oct. 20, 2016, at his home. Tom was the son of the late Dr. Robert H. Eddy and Mary S. Eddy of Camden, and the brother to Jonathan S. Eddy of Rockport, Christine Thompson of Stoneham, Mass. and Camden, Robert H. Eddy Jr. of Camden, and William F. Eddy of Warren.

Tom was born in Cooperstown, N.Y., in 1956, and came to Camden with his family in 1957. Tom graduated from Camden Rockport High School in the Class of 1974, and from University of Maine at Farmington, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1981.

Tom was a gifted stonemason who owned a business called Keystone Masonry. Tom preferred to work with field stone and those who know the trade considered him an artist, with stone as his pallet. His work and skill were admired by many.

Tom was a man who preferred the simple life. He also loved having several dogs during his life. They always agreed with him but they did not always do as they were told. He was passionate about hunting, fishing and loved many other outdoor activities. For those who knew him, everyone enjoyed his dry sense of humor and his embellished stories of his many outdoor adventures. When Tom got going with his stories he was the life of the party! He will be greatly missed.

A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine.
