VINALHAVEN — Thelma H. Philbrook, 90, passed away May 15, 2015, after a short illness, in Vinalhaven.

Born in Vinalhaven on April 25, 1925, she was the daughter of John and Lucy (Ames) Hildings, and was a 1943 graduate of Vinalhaven High School. She married Frank Philbrook on April 16, 1946.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Ivan Calderwood Homestead for their wonderful care of Thelma during the past few months.

Surviving are her two sons, Donald Philbrook and his wife, Kathy, of St. George, and Robert Philbrook and his wife, Sharon, of Vinalhaven; her daughter, Peggy Davis of Rockland; several grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Philbrook who died in 2002; three sisters; and four brothers.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public services. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
