A taste of what’s new for Facebook business page users...

This week in social media, there are a few things to mention that might make it worth your while. In the news again, as they are just about every week it seems, Facebook has rolled out something new for it's business page users. They're calling it "Local Awareness," and it's deemed as "finding new customers by showing ads to groups of people who are near that business's neighborhood." I don't know yet how big the neighborhood can be in their terms, but it might be worth it to give it one round.

It seems that all the key social networking websites are making their advertising possibilities well known. Obviously, the more advertising we do, the more money we make (or hope to make!) However, I don't recommend putting all of your marketing or spending allowance into one basket. If you care to try it, start small. The amount we allot can always grow in size.

If you're into the new apps that we're all so glued to on on mobile devices, I can recommend checking out "whoweuse" available in the iPhone App Store, and soon into the Android Marketplace. Whoweuse is apparently a mash-up of a few different ideas where we, the user, can find out who our friends and neighbors are using as service providers. We can also read reviews, and hopefully find out more about these service providers to see if we can use them also. Sounds good to me!
