Support the Maine Lighthouse Museum

Fri, 09/05/2014 - 12:15pm

The Maine Lighthouse Museum board of directors has issued the following letter to the editor:

We are graciously asking that businesses and individuals consider making a pledge of support to the museum. A pledge may be a one-time gift, or the gift can be scheduled to be paid out over a period of time. Informational packets are available to interested organizations and people who would like to gain a more in-depth understanding of the hard work and achievements that have occurred at MLM.

We truly are "America's Lighthouse Destination," and we need the financial support of many, both locally and nationally, to remain the caretakers of the largest and most significant public collection of lighthouse artifacts in the United States. A pledge form can be downloaded on the website, and Dot Black, interim director, would be happy to answer any questions regarding how your contributed funds will be put to work. As a non-profit, any and all contributions to the Maine Lighthouse Museum are tax-deductible charitable contributions.

The Maine Lighthouse Museum in Rockland is home to the largest collection of lighthouse and U.S. Coast Guard artifacts in the nation. Please consider making a Pledge of Support to the museum.

The mission of the Maine Lighthouse Museum is to educate the public regarding the long standing traditions, heroism and progress of America's Lighthouse and Lifesaving services and the United States Coast Guard through the conservation and interpretation of the nation's most significant collection of lighthouse and lifesaving artifacts. The Maine Lighthouse Museum is located in Rockland, the heart of the Midcoast. From sparkling lenses to heartwarming stories of the keepers and their families, the Maine Lighthouse Museum is truly America's lighthouse museum.

You may donate, join the museum and/or make a pledge online on our website at www.mainelighthousemuseum.org. or in person at the museum, located at One Park Drive in Downtown Rockland. Parking is free at the Trade Winds Motor Inn across the street. For more information you may call the museum at 207 594-3301. Like us on Facebook.
